Contract Length: 10 Months

About the Position:
Pocola Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Secondary English Language Arts Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, engaging classroom environment that supports student learning, literacy development, and critical thinking. We are looking for an educator who demonstrates strong instructional skills, professionalism, and a commitment to Oklahoma Academic Standards.

Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver standards-aligned ELA instruction
Design engaging lessons that support reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
Use data to guide instruction, differentiate lessons, and support diverse learners.
Create a classroom environment that encourages student participation and academic growth.
Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student progress.
Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to enhance student achievement.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
Participate in professional development and district training.
Implement district policies, state academic standards, and site expectations.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred but not required).
Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Secondary English/Language Arts (or eligibility to obtain).
Strong knowledge of Oklahoma Academic Standards (OAS) for ELA.
Effective communication, classroom management, and instructional skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
