Description

We are seeking a compassionate, loving, and dedicated individual to join our team as a Pre-K–1st Grade School Counselor. This position plays a vital role in supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of our youngest learners. The ideal candidate is someone who is deeply committed to the health, well-being, and education of all students, and who fosters a nurturing environment where every child can grow and thrive.

Our school values open and respectful communication with families, and the counselor will serve as a key partner in building strong home-school relationships. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively with diverse populations of students, their families, and staff, demonstrating cultural responsiveness, empathy, and professionalism.

Required Qualifications Master’s degree in School Counseling or a related field

Valid Oklahoma School Counselor certification

Experience working with early childhood or elementary-aged students preferred

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students and families from diverse backgrounds

Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills

Knowledge of developmentally appropriate academic practices and social-emotional learning theories

Proficiency with technology, including student information systems and digital communication tools
Preferred Qualifications Provide individual and group counseling to students in Pre-K through 1st grade
Support students’ social-emotional development and behavior through age-appropriate strategies

Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement classroom interventions and positive behavior support

Communicate regularly with families, offering guidance, resources, and support

Assist with the development and implementation of school-wide social-emotional learning programs

Monitor student progress and maintain confidential records

Serve as a liaison between home, school, and community resources
